Strengthening a floor

We are pulling out brand Jacuzzi whirlpool and replacing it Sanijet. Pursuant with jacuzzi floor strength they require about 55 kg per square feet. Curiously, Sanijet wants 100 pounds per square feet. I’m looking for ideas to strengthen the floor. I have access to the bottom. I plan to incorporate the additional piece of sheet rock on top and it screwing joists. Sistering joists, probably difficult because cantilevered of the floor but I could to put a lot of blocking between the joists under the whirlpool, if it helps. Any proposals I would appreciate it. House built 10 years and Toll Brothers. In general, it is sloppily constructed, but the floors were at least from the so-spec’d. In for example, under the kitchen is all double joists although the period is not particularly long. Under the plan are double joists “support the cabinets.”

Through the house joists are 10 inches a width of 16 inches apart. Cubic foot of water weighs about 62 pounds. Container 5′ x 5′ with 3′ water will weigh about 4,650 pounds. Load sq.ft. will be 186 pounds. If you are weighed 186 pounds you say about the same load on the floor. I kinda suspect exceeds the current floor inadequate. Weigh at 1-square foot area produced more than one floor joist. Some article subfloor spreads the load. Blocking will transfer the burden on the surrounding joists, as well, but I suspect he will need more than just blocking. Normally housing (my area) pound requires 40/sf on the floor and 1 pound 30/sf the second. Blocking help some but I think you still essentially overall maximum loading half a dozen joists. Vertical support from the below would be better.

How free you to intervene in the space below? You can put 4 X 4 property on each joist that runs under jacuzzi or run through the support beam perpendicular (and below) joists, and a pair or 4 X 4’s those controlled steel jackposts. Generally speaking (the real general), you can cantilever up to 3x joist size for a normal load. You said, joists doubled in the kitchen, and they are vague on period. Should we take it as you are putting the bathtub in the kitchen? Below finished basement with the suspended ceiling to a vertical support it will be impossible. The only option would be to sister joists. Some article a significant part is that Jacuzzi will be at the end of joists, which short. Jacuzzi, partially located in the cantilevered portion floor. Cantilever and about 10 feet of it separately in a box from the rest of the joists, and joins the rest of joists with a double in parallel with the joist cantilevered wall.

No bathtub in the kitchen. I was simply providing examples of what to most of the coverage of joists, appears to be well done. Some article the kitchen had not been double joist because of the time. They were doubled joist because the designer wants kitchen floor is particularly strong. I do not know that in accordance with the floor Jacuzzi in the master bedroom. Covering there short, and if I find two joists, I stop disturbing though I put an additional layer of 3/4 inch plywood in accordance with Jacuzzi no matter what. Sheets of plywood in the floor are a good tool for loading as well. In the room with only resort, to take the floor down to the south bare floor, glue and screw a layer of plywood. Plywood can be used as a cross fixation bottom, because you already know where such tubes and should be run.
